Winner of the DRIFT CREATE Award 2026

I'm delighted to have been named the winner of the CREATE Award at the DRIFT Awards 2026, celebrating creativity in Cornwall.

The award recognises my work as a contemporary painter and the development of my art practice, The Colour of Night, which explores how natural and artificial light transform familiar places after dark.

The winners were announced at an awards ceremony at Budock Vean Hotel on 15 October 2026. Although I wasn't able to attend, Des Glover from DRIFT kindly visited me in Newquay a few days later to present the award in person.

The award itself is a beautiful piece of glass art created by Cornish glass artist Jo Downs, making it an especially fitting celebration of Cornwall's creative community.

A huge thank you to everyone who voted for me, and to the team at DRIFT for this recognition.Time to write something...
