Nightfall over the Thames

Inspired by an evening walk beside the River Thames, this painting captures the familiar rhythm of London as day gives way to night. The landmarks provide the setting. The journey provides the story.
Nightfall under the Thames | Acrylic on canvas | 50 × 50 cm | 2024 | SOLD
I'd spent the evening walking through London just before going to the OXO Gallery to pick up my People’s Choice Award at the Private view of The British Art Prize 2024. Watching the city gradually change as offices emptied and people made their way home. What caught my attention wasn't Westminster itself, but the reflections stretching across the Thames.
Whether we're walking home from work, heading towards a station or simply taking the longer route through the city, these small journeys quietly shape our relationship with the places we know.
The viewpoint that inspired Nightfall under the Thames.
