Fireworks burst across the night sky above Newquay Harbour, their colours reflected in the dark water below. Inspired by the energy and spectacle of a fireworks finale, the painting captures a fleeting moment when light fills the harbour and transforms the familiar coastline into something magical.
Recognition
Newquay Harbour Fireworks was created for my 'Acrylic Fireworks at Night' video tutorial for Bristle (formerly Painters Online), exploring how layers of colour, contrast and controlled marks can create the feeling of artificial light against a dark sky.
