Night Surf Original Art

Inspired by Night Surf, a floodlit surfing event once held at Fistral Beach in Newquay, this painting explores the extraordinary effect of artificial light reaching out across the sea after dark. Rather than focusing on the surfers themselves, it captures the temporary world created by the floodlights, transforming a familiar stretch of coastline into a place of activity, anticipation and shared experience. The illuminated waves contrast with the surrounding darkness, while the floodlights create an unexpected stage upon the water.

Details such as the RNLI vehicle quietly anchor the scene, reminding us that this is not an imagined landscape but a real event that briefly transformed one of Cornwall's best-known beaches.
