'Shared Water' captures a brief intersection of two journeys on the River Dart, as the Train of Lights leaves Kingswear and the Higher Ferry crosses through its colourful reflections.
Painted on a larger 70 × 70cm canvas, the water becomes the focus of the scene, carrying and distorting the train's light as the ferry cuts across its path. For a moment, two independent journeys are connected by the same stretch of water before continuing on their way.
A Hidden Layer
Selected details are painted with fluorescent acrylics, revealing an additional glow when viewed under UV light. Scroll through the images to see the effect.
